QuestionMy 6 month border collie has a thing about sitting on top of our 12 year old Cavalier King Charles - normally when he's fast asleep. Is it just a dominance thing? He's fantastic with the kids and the rest of the family. Unfortunately, our Cav is old and is just not interested in the Border Collie. Do you have any ideas on how to stop it? We just don't seem to be able to catch him before he does it. Thanks
AnswerHello Karen,
If I had this problem at home, I would most certainly pick a time every day where I would literally set up my Border Collie to do this "thing" so I'd have an opportunity to correct. And if I didn't have time to watch for it and correct it, then I would close the door and keep them separate while the older dog takes his naps.
In my mind it most certainly sounds like a dominance thing. But bottom line is, he's simply gotten away with it once and now he's made a habit of it.
Thanks for asking!
