Hi
I have an eight week old border collie pup and I am keen to get him used to his lead as soon as possible but whenever I put it on him he just keeps biting it.  How can I get him to stop?

Hi Catherine,

You may want to consider using a chain for your leash.  If that is not possible, then you'll have to consistantly correct him and give him an alternative since he is probably teething at this stage.

Another alternative is to use a long nylon cord.  A thin cord is hard to grab hold of and chew on.  You can get some at your local hardware store and purchase a swivel type turnbuckle to tie onto one end.  Fleet Farm also carries these items.
