cocker spaniel and lump behind hear

Hello,
thank you for taking my question. I have a female cocker
spaniel who is 1 and half years old. While petting her I
noticed a lump below her left ear. I checked the right side
to see if she had anything there, but she didn't. I made an
appointment with my vet on monday, should I try to get her
in sooner in case this is an emergency or can we wait until
monday 8/7

Fortunately Monday should be soon enough.  Even if it is a cancer, usually they aren't that fast growing.  Could be some kind of a benign tumor or cyst too.  Usually the vets recognize what the problem is, and can fix what needs fixing.  

Sorry I didn't answer sooner.  I was at the state fair dog show Friday, and then worked fund raisers Friday night and all day Saturday.
