coughing and shaking cocker

Question
My female Cocker Spaniel is 3 years old. I feed her Evo kibble. I used to feed her and my Flat Coat a raw diet but when I researched and found the Evo I thought it would be a good substitute. I notice you recommend Canidae. I thought that had grains added.
My problem is that the Cocker has a deep bronchial cough and she shakes sometimes for no apparent reason. She also has had 3 - 4 mild siezures over the 2 years I have had her. Can you offer any input that might help her?
Thank you!

Answer
Stephanie, cockers don't do well on kibble.  Yes, EVO is a good one but they're all too high in carbs (even the good ones) simply due to how kibble is made.  EVO canned has little carbs (really a trace) and Canidae canned is only 8% carbs unlike any kibble which is around 50% carbs.
I also really like AvoDerm (surprisingly now available at PetSmart).

What does your vet say about the cough and seizures?
What testing has been done?
Any dog that's had any sort of seizure activity should be on a Taurine supplement.
So tell me what the vet has said and perhaps I can add to that.
