introducing another dog to the family

We have a 4 month old boxer/lab.We were wondering what breed of dog would make a good match for him?

Hi Jeff,

Almost any dog will get along with a Boxer/lab cross.  It only depends on what you're looking for.  I personally would go for a breed of similar size and/or strength.  

I have 5 full-bred Boxers, a lab/pit mix and a Basset Hound :)  All get along very well and have similar styles of play.

There are all kinds of dog books out there as well as information on the web.  Make a list of the dogs you are interested in, either because of looks or size or temperament, and look them up.  Most sites/books will tell you if they like to play, are laid-back, need plenty of exercise, etc.  Look for a dog that will fit in with your family.  :)

If you're thinking of adopting a dog, most shelters and rescues will let you set up a meeting between dogs and your guy to find the best match!
