Question
I have a fawn boxer,  and he has diahrea, I  have tried the chicken and rice approach,  but he still has it bad ... what do you suggest??

Answer
If he's a young puppy, and he's got any other symptoms (lethargy, vomiting, not eating), or if the diarrhea has a strong or metallic smell, he needs to see a vet if he hasn't yet.

In an adult, the standard course of treatment for diarrhea is a 24-hour fast, followed by some bland food like the chicken and rice.  Some dogs do have issues with chicken, so you might want to try boiled ground beef (rinse the fat off) and rice instead.  Make sure clean fresh water is available at all times.

If this goes on (or has  been) for several days, he should see a vet to rule out illness, parasites, or infection.

Good luck!
