Question
Hi we have a boxer bitch that is just 1 yr old.We have never had any health issues up till now ,over the last week i have noticed bald patches appearing on her sides they aren't totally bald.I thought it may be that her coat is changing for the summer because she has always had a beautiful shiny coat that when we walk her that the first thing passer buys point out, she isn't itching or rubbing the fur on any thing i looked up a few health issues an one said thyroid trouble but she doesn't have any of the other symptoms she keeps us on our toes any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Secondly Morgan gets so exited when visitors come into our home even if she nows the face she does finally settle but i do tell everyone just make the greeting as calm as possible.Because the more fuss you make the worse she is she does sometimes wee with excitement, but we never punish her for that because i do believe she stills is a baby over than this she is beautiful we have 3 children and she waits for them to wake in the morning she really is like having another kid if you have any ideas to my questions please could you share them ???

Answer
1) Take her to the vet. She needs her thyroid checked and checked for a mange or allergies.

2) Excitement is normal for a Boxer. Some more than others. Teach her to calm down after petting and loving her. She loves people and all Boxers are social. The more the merrier. Boxers stay puppy-like forever. That is their nature.

3) 1 year old is a puppy still. Training is your answer. Love and guidance, patience, and consistency.
