Question
i have been to our local dog kennels and have fallen in love with a boxer bitch  my only concern is that she was brought in with another female boxer which she has lived with since they were 8 weeks old and are now nearly 2 years old , the kennels are happy for the dogs to go out to seperate home but my concerns are that they will pine for each other and possible bad behaviour through pinning i have owned a boxer for 12 years but she has sadly died will these dogs be ok being apart from each other ?

Answer
Hi Janet,

Boxers are generally very resilient and adapt well to new circumstances. The biggest risk with taking only one of the two is probably separation anxiety -- not so much pining for the other dog, but an anxiety about being alone when they've always had canine companionship before.

That said, it's not really all that much more work to have two Boxers instead of one.... :)

Good luck!
