Jozie snapping at new family

Question
Hi,
i have a friend, and we've raised boxers together. i had to put my boxer down for health reasons and so when he called asking if i would adopt his female pup (almost 1 yr. old) i said sure. Jozie (the boxer) has been with us for about 2 days. She is really sweet and very quiet for the most part. My brother in law and his kids are staying with us for a while making it 4 adults and 4 kids and 1 other dog. (brother in laws black lab) Anyways, my nephew (3 yrs. old) is very playful with his dog and loves to play with jozie, however she's growled at him and snapped at him and unfortunately today bit him. I'm sad that she's turning this way but i almost wonder if it's just stress from being around strangers and having chaos all day long. I don't know weather to tell me friend it's not working out or wait it out and see if it gets better. please help!

Answer
That is a BIG change for a dog- and too many people and kids-- with another dog.

You bit off more than you can chew, and you cannot expect any dog to adapt in 2 days.

Supervise the dog with the children and forbid the 3 year old from playing with her. He is too young to teach proper play and will continue to be bit by ANY dog at that age.

You cannot allow young children around dogs unsupervised.
