Answer
Hi James,

Male dogs do not go into heat; his spraying in the house is called "marking", and it's a training/management issue.

You will probably have a hard time finding someone who will breed to your dog, primarily because he's not registered. Responsible breeders want their puppies to be able to participate in events such as conformation, obedience, and agility, and registration is necessary for that. In addition, you don't mention any health testing he's had done -- responsible breeders are looking for dogs that are tested for Aortic Stenosis, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, hypothyroidism, hip dysplasia, and Degenerative Myelopathy. These conditions can cause extreme pain, fainting, or even sudden early death in puppies, so it's essential to only breed from parents who have been screened for them.

Your best bet is to enjoy your boy as the wonderful companion he is, and if you really want to get into breeding find a responsible breeder who will sell you a healthy, well-bred, registered puppy and guide you along the way so that you aren't inadvertently contributing to the high number of Boxers that die young, suffer from long-term health issues, or end up in rescues and shelters.

Good luck!
