Question
We have a litter of bassets. One was really weak and we literally brought her back from the dead. We've been feeding her the powdered puppy milk every 2 hours for the past three days and now she's crying constantly. We've stimulated her and she's urinating fine. Her bowel movements are yellow and seem hard. She also shakes. Is it possible that we fed her too much formula and if so how do we make her feel better?

Answer
Is there a reason that she can't go back to her momma?
Is the mother not haveing anything to do with her?
If so, mothers have a sense that something is wrong with the pup and she won't nurse it.

She could have Gas, or Bloat from eating to much to fast.
I would take her to the vet, so he can help you figure out what the best treatment would be for such a young baby.
He could be getting the formula in her lungs causing her to sortof drown.

The best thing to do is ask your vet for his advice.

Wish I could be more help.

Sincerely
Crystal
