aurtha laid on porch at night for years.three weeks ago ; a posson came up on the porch at night. aurtha jump the posson ,when i got out side
he had him corner.i ran back in the house 'got the
gun and shot the posson.now aurtha stand at the
botton of the steps and bark and bark.he will not
come up the steps by hiself.i have to put the lease on his and lead him up the steps. i dont
know what is wrong.i dont think the posson bit
him.he seen alright except he drinking a lot
of water. can you help. june

Hello June,
Could he have possibly pulled a muscle while going after the opposom. Maybe he has arthritis and it hurts him to climb the stairs.

I would have the vet check him at the end of next week if he is still not wanting to go up those steps.
