Question
hi  my question is simple and will clear up a discussion with a co-worker. cats always land on their feet.  he said what if the cat is blind. i didn't know how to answer that.   by the way i have a wonderful 21yr. old puggy face that we love so much and is doing great. now how do i answer this question.    dian

Answer
Dian,

No, cats don't always land on their feet but they have a better chance if it is from a higher distance.

I have a blind cat that lands more on her front feet and face if she can't judge the distance. Blind cats don't have a sense of direction. Everything is from memory or a 'picture' in their mind. She lands on her side if she falls, say rolls off the bed. And she doesn't jump up on things, she springs up and lands on all four feet.

Wow! 'Puggy Face' is 21 years old? That is approx. 100 years old in human years! Just for future info here is a link that has lots of good articles and information on elderly cats:
