Question
Hello, I recently brought a kitten home from a litter that was born in a barn.  He was 7 weeks when I brought him home, and adapted quickly to our house.  We have alot of animals and he gets along with all of them very well and is very playful.  He is a happy kitten.  The first few weeks he was great with his litter training, always going in his litter box which i keep in my bedroom with his food and water b/c i can close the door and keep him in there when I leave for work (when ppl are home he has free roam of the house and access to his litter at all times) Anyways, just the past few weeks he has been peeing in my room.  I've noticed he goes in to my closet alot, and he pees on the carpet right in front of me.  Each time i pick him up while he's peeing and place him in the litter box. I've removed everything from my floor and blocked my closet off...but I don't know what else to do...as far as i know he's only done it about 3 or 4 times, but I'm worried that he will continue.  Do you have any advice on what else i can do?

Answer
Hi Mae,

Is his cat litter tray too small? Or did you just change his sand to another type which is not to his liking? If no, one possibility could be because he wants to leave his scent to mark his territory.

One way to curb this is to re-train him to use the cat litter tray again. You can try to place it in another location.
