My Cat lost his voice

16:26:51

Question
Well a few days ago i notice my cat couldn't meow and there were no obvious signs that he had something stuck in he's throat or that he was choking. I thought he might have a fur ball stuck in his throat but it doesn't seem so. I gave him bread and oiled sardines so that if he had something in his throat they would help it go down, but that hasn't worked.

If this wasn't bad enough today when i came home my cat has blood under his lip i think its a cut i cant see he hisses and tries to scratch me when i try to open his mouth to see what's wrong. My cat just hides behind the TV only comes out to eat. Since he lost his voice he hasn't been outside so the blood can't be an injury from another cat or dog.

If you know what's wrong with my cat or have any idea at all of how to help him. please tell me.
thank you

Answer
I don't know what is wrong with him, but I do think it would be a good idea to have him seen by your vet.  One of my cat's occasionally loses his voice because, quite frankly, he talks too much.  But since your cat is having some behavioral issues as well, it could definitely be a sign that he is not feeling well.  Cats will often hide when they are painful, as well as become aggressive when you try to look at them.  I hope he gets better.
