Question
Our 8 year old neutered male cat has just recently started this "curious" habit.
He will jump on my sons lap, or lay next to him on the sofa, do the kneading motions, but also grab hold  of my sons arm with his teeth and lightly pinch the skin. If my son attempts to move his arm, it seems the cat gets agitated, follows his hand movements and goes after it more.

This cat has always followed my son around, is between his feet while walking, and runs to the door when he hears his car pull up.

What's with the kneading and pinching? He seems to only do this when my son has returned home for the day.

Answer
Debbie,

Your cat has a case of 'separation anxiety'. I am including a link (copy and paste, or type the whole link in your address bar) that explains it in detail:
