my male cat is missing

Hello expert. good morning. i am vijay from india. my cat eats  only chicken or fish .He never drinks milk or eat rice(we eat rice in india and most of the cats drink milk and eat curd rice). He was quite and friendly till we lost him. He is an indoor cat and does not know how to hunt a bird or mice.because we never allowed him out. We brought him home at a month age old . i don't think even her mother taught her how to hunt at that little age. Now he is 10-11 months old.now-a-days he started to go out little bit and comes back. But all of sudden he started yelling mostly in nights with different sounds and forces us to open the doors to let her to go out.unable to bear his pressure we let him out one day. the next day he came back. but last week Thursday, he went out( may be for a female). Next day we found him on our watchman's quarters top. We called him and tried to bring him down but in vain. he stayed back there day and night and never wanted to come home even after noticing us and our calls. we failed to bring him down as he ignored our several attempts to bring him down and to our house.As he was nearby ,we also thought he will come back after a little exploration of outside world. but to our surprise, nether he returned back nor visible till night 11-00. later at 11-30 pm, i noticed that he was meowing with other cat (does not now male or female)for quite some time on the watchman's quarters  top. it could be a fight i don't know or a courting scene. later everything got stopped and i saw both are running out as dogs barked at them.But the dogs never chased them or followed them. this was  happend last Thursday.we tried all the methods to trace him like put his litter outside,pasted posters to notice neighbors , searched with flash light in the late nights, called him, played a recorded meows of him while searching outside. searched all areas and surrounding bushes, hiding places and so on. but no use. we love him so much and can't bear the agony. he is not a cat for us but our own child. main problem is , he does not know hunting and cannot get his food by his own. one week past and no traces of him. no food for him . we do not know how he can survive. why he is not coming back at least for food. we live in interior to main roads and we live in apartments 2nd floor only. its easy for him to come back to home but not coming. There is no chance of any accident.If he has gone for females also, he should come back as it was more than a week. we are worried. how many days a cat can survive without food and water we do not know. All we want is, he should be safe and return back. what might have happend and what we should do to trace him and bring him back kindly suggest.

Hi Vijay,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. My power went out. He will stay out as long as there are females in heat in the area. As for finding food and water, cats are pretty resilient in finding these. They fall back on natural instincts and will hunt. Here is a link that will help you get him back. Once you get him back you need to get him neutered or he will keep on trying to get out.
