Question
my cat gave birth to 2 kittens on Saturday around 4pm here in England. 1 kitten was stillborn, the other is healthy and feeding well. My cat has a slight bloody discharge and cleans it as soon as it arrives. Is this normal after giving birth? She seems fine otherwise and appears happy and relaxed. She is eating and has no problems going to the toilet.

Answer
Hello Ken - Sorry about the stillborn..
Sounds like mom and the new baby are doing well.  Yes, she will bleed and clean herself for about a week.  Just make sure the blood is small amounts.  If it increases, bring her to the vet.  The vet can give her a shot to spot the bleeding.

Good luck with all!
