Boxer with a runny nose.

Hi.  I have a boxer that is almost a year and a half.  Occasionally he gets a runny nose.  Usually its gone in a couple of days.  But now its back and it's been like this for about 4 days.  The snot goes back and forth between a clear and a greenish color.  Sometimes it just seems to leak out of his nose and I clean it up for him.  But then there are other times (which is more often) where it dries up and makes it hard for him to breathe.  Other then that, he is perfect!  His eyes aren't droopy or goopy.  He is eating normally and playing normally.  But, when we were at the vet recently, she noticed that he was having a reaction to eating out of the plastic food bowl, with the stuff growing on his nose.  since then I have switched him to a glass bowl, and his nose seemed to start clearing up.

Sara - Ok, yes your boy has allergies to many things.  If you want to spend about 500.00 the vet can do the allergy testing.  Then, they will give you a list of at least 10-20 allergens that effect your boxer boy.

I have some help for you- Here goes:

1.  Please get your boy some Children's Claritan - give him a small dose of this when his nose is running.
