Terriers ear

Question
Jana...this is Jana again.  Apparently my Rat Terrier got in a fight with something.  His ear, though, is what is bothering me.  I've been home now for 3 hours, and the ear is still bleeding like a stuck hog. It's the tip of his ear.  He shakes his head and the red blood goes everywhere.  He looks like he's a red dog instead of a white dog.  Should I just leave it alone until morning?  Even then I don't know what I should do.  You've been a great help before, I thought I ask you for your advice again.  Thanks...Jana

Answer
Ear tips notoriously bleed like that. It is very hard for even a vet to stop it. Some of the things we used are epinephrine, flour, quick stop, superglue. Super glue works the best. You can use regular superglue and try and stop it that way.

If it still bleeding tomorrow you might want to call your vet. Even sutures don't always stop the bleeding.
