lava rock

Question
I have a 150 gallon tank with a tide pool filter system and protein skimmer. I have just set the tank up and have about 60lbs of red lava rock in the tank. The question is can I or should I use the lava rock with live rock. I have no fish in the tank yet and plan to add live rock first and let it cure, before adding the fish. Will I be on the right path with lava rock and live rock together. Thank you for your time. Paul

i am not sure on lava rock to be honest, it is possible for it to leach toxins into the water over time. also it does disolve over time too, could cause irritant to the fish.

ould be worth doing some reserch on the chemical properties of lava rock, see if there is anything potentially harmfull
