Tank cleaning issue

Hey I am a new owner and all my fish died I was told to
clean the tank first when I went to the store not helpful
at all.  I understand how to clean the tank but,,,do I need
new coral now????Or is there a way to clean it

Hi Natasha:  You do not need new coral.  You probably need to let the tank cycle longer and to also add beneficial bacteria.  I would not clean a new fish tank for the first month it is up and running.  I would however do weekly water changes of about 20% and get the water tested to make sure it is not toxic.  Most fish stores will do this for you for free....
