choc starfish

Question
 I bought about 150 pounds of live rock and 50 pounds of live sand.  The guy had a starfish in it so i brought it home.
Can it live in the tank without additional food.  I am waiting before I put fish in it.  Probably colorful tangs or angels...I intend on doing soft coral and get rid of the star fish.  Will he  survive about 6 weeks?????

I think the starfish may survive that long before totally starving to death...

They eat algae and 'nori', seaweed.

You can try to place the seaweed werever the starfish is, and you may get lucky and he may eat it...

But you will have to find a new home for him prior to putting your corals into the tank as they eat corals too..
