Question
Hi, We have a shadow box fence that we put a leaf man head on it and made it into a water feature. We have alot of splash on the fence. I was wandering if we could take a peice of backer board and attach it to the fence and tile it. Than put the man face on the tile, so when the water comes out of his mouth into the basin below the splash would be on the tile and not the fence. I didn't know if you can put backer board out in the rain or not. Hope you can help.  Thanks, Doreen

I would think you would have problems down the road. Try a piece of chrome plated checkerplate. This is the plate that make up step bumpers on trucks. Go to a local aluminum suppler in your area, not only will it be impervious to water but it will offer reflection. I am afraid that down the road backer plate will get wet and the tiles fall off.
