goldfish & lily pads

My goldfish have been eating all my lily pads off the three plants that I have.  How do I get them to stop.  I feed @ 24 goldfish flakes and now added pond pallets 2x/day.  But they continue to eat the lily pads. My pond size is @ 220-250 gal. Please help.  Thx

HI Deanna,
Thanx for your question.  You might try giving the goldfish regular feedings of cheap lettuce or other edible greens.  Sounds to me like they favor something green and fresh more than the flakes, so, I'd try some leafy greens or peas and see if you can't get their attention away from the plants.  I hope this helps.
