having fed blood worms to fish in pond quite some time ago I now, have the problem that worms that escaped into the filter system continue continue to breed and despite cleaning filter system again and again am unable to eradicate them very unpleasant is there a solution?

Hello Mary! The worms really do not hurt anything and your fish do, of course, consider them a delicacy.
You can put the filter material temporarily somewhere in the pond where the fish can get to it and they will munch on the worms.
You can also try soaking the material in a heavy salt solution (this may also wipe out a lot of your bacteria colony - use with caution).
