Question
We have baby yabbies in our tank outside (no room inside for the tank) the tank has turned green recently. Is this because of the warm weather? How can we stop this from happening with out bringing the tank inside?
Thankyou in advance for your help!!!

Answer
Algae love waste (from your crayfish as we call them here; you're in Australia?) and light and warm water.  So, yes, the warm weather is a factor.  How big is the tank?  Do you do water changes?  If you change the water, add live plants, and try a few other things (on my algae web pages), the algae will not be as bad.  You probably can't get rid of all of it.

My pages on algae are at
http://www.fishpondinfo.com/plants/algae.htm for tanks and
http://www.fishpondinfo.com/plants/algae2.htm for ponds.

Your outdoor tank is acting like both an outdoor tank and a small outdoor pond.

Good luck!
