Question
hello, there seems to be a very small tadpole like thing in my new pond and water fall......how do I figure out what it is and then what do I do about it.....Also the wasp are loving thise area.... is there any way to keep them from useing the pond for a drinking area.....thank you so much for your help....New pond and waterfall lover.....

Answer
Wasps are attracted mostly to open sources of garbage and flowering weeds, as well as water.  The best way to stay rid of wasps is to keep weeds mowed before they flower, as well as making sure your trash cans always have their lids on.  Hopefully they will just find a new habitat, including a new water source.  Another option is to eliminate their nests.  I would personally hire a professional for this, as I don't want to get stung.

There aren't may creatures other than baby frogs and toads that resemble tadpoles, so they are most likely tadpoles.  The only thing even close in appearance are leeches, but the differences are apparent.  Do a small amount of research on frog-inhabited ponds and decide whether you want frogs or not.  You will typically see a couple dozen tadpoles at a time, so it seems as if your pond isn't totally infested with them.  Now would be a good time to get rid of them should you choose you don't want them around in the future.
