i have a tank that someone gave me but i dont know what size it is. it has six sides, each of them measure h 24 in w 11.5 in. i was told it held about 35-45 gallons. what is your opinion? how many inches of fish could i hold in this tank? i already have a maingano and a gold chinese algae eater in the tank. i would like to add more of this type of fish. what other types of fish would be compatible in this size tank, and how would i go about decorating for this type of fish (afican cichlids)? the maingano i bought about a year ago. are mainganos and johannis similar?

Hi John;

Measure the tank across the top from from flat side to opposite flat side, and then from corner to opposite corner. I think it is a "35 gallon hexagon". Here is a link to an "All-Glass" aquarium company chart with some of them to see approximate dimensions and gallon sizes;
