An active fish with too little to do

Question
Lucky me, I found a stash of cash in my room and I get to make a trip to Fintastic for plants and new substrate. That'll be a female dog to replace and no mistake. Lately, however, I've noticed that my Pim Pictus, Dobhran, is bored, full of energy, and nothing to do. Is there anything tank-safe that would satisfy his need for stimulation? There is very little said about toys for fish, indeed. Perhaps a safe cat toy?

Answer
Hello,

As far as I know there are no toys that fish enjoy playing with. What fish really like is room to explore, caves and tunnels to hide in and pass through and (for some species) friends of the same species to school with.

You could put a cat toy in your tank, but I don't think your fish would want to play with it.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Stephanie
