need an algae eater

i need some kind of algae eater for my 30 gallon tank.  I have 4 African Chiclids and they managed to eat two plecos.  So i just was wondering what other kind of fish i can get that will last with the Chiclids.

one possibility would be an otocinclus catfish. They are also called otos.  They are very small and may be able to escape the agressive cichlids.  Another possibility would be a chineese algae eater.  They are large and can get aggressive, which would go well in with cichlids.  Good luck.
