Question
hello, i just got a book called "Simon & Schuster's guide to freshwater and marine aquarium fishes". This book has a page to angelfish, but they do not state the tank requirements. First of all, I just got the tank , which is a 20 gallon tank, and I want to know what I should get as a beginner, and if the tank is big enough for two angelfish, or just one.

Answer
Hi Ken, a 20 gallon tank is big enough for about 3 angelfish is you don't have any other fish in your tank. For every inch of adult fish you have in your tank you should have a gallon of water. And since angelfish get to be about 6 inches you should have 18 gallons of water for 3 so you can put 3 in there. To set up your tank add some rocks and small driftwood and some live plants(they love that the most!). Then fill up your tank and add a de-chlorinator and add a product called Cycle which helps your tank out a lot. Also add a little aquarium salt to neutralize diseases and to calm your fish down. And let it run for about about 2 days and add your fish. Also for the filter you will probably want a hanging filter. Good Luck! let me know if I can help anymore!
