Question
Hi. i bought a needlefish along with my 2 small oscar to add into my 55g tank, but it dont seem that the needlefish is eating anything. I threw in a couple of feeders in and my oscar gouble em up. the needle just sit there? is there sumthing wrong or does the needlefish only eat when Im not around. i never seen him eat anything. or what should i feed him. need help.

Answer
He might not be comfortable, needle fish are mostly brackish so adding about 1 tsp of aquarium salt per 5 gallons of water should help to perk him up, they are also shy feeders at first so it might be a while before you see him eat, as long as his stomach seems to be even and not concave then he is eating.  Another thing you can try is to hand feed him by taking a small feeder guppy and using a pair of tweezers to hold it and then put it in near the Needle fish moving it around a little bit to get his attention, watch your fingers though cuz Needle fish have VARY sharp teeth.
