african chiclids

i just want to know how much african chiclid i could put in my 30 gal thank i have 3 as of right now i put 1 in yesterday and today he is dead his eyes are missing and alot more

Answer
Once you have your original stock of cichlids it is hard to add more. They will kill each other as they have already established territory.

However, there is a trick that sometimes works. Take all the cichlids out, and put the new ones, and the old in separate containers then, while le they are out rearrange the decor. Make it so it looks very different than before. The trick is to make the fish think they are in a different location and they will not have the same territory boudaries as before.

Now, on to your questoin.

You can probably put 6 total in there, although it depends on your water change scedule and the specific africans you choose.
