Cichlid compatability with other fish types

Hi Ron:

We recently got 3 cichlids and a friend has offered to give us tin foil barbs, blue gorami and a red tail shark to add to our tank.  Are they compatible with cichlids?

Hi Gerard,
  The tin foil barbs, if they are as large as the cichlids, might be okay but the blue gourami and the red-tail shark likely will not survive with the cichlids.
