Question
hello ma'am, is there any mechanical device like cribbing collar to prevent food protection in horses rather than placing a big stone in the feed tub?

Answer
Hello Rohit,

Thank you for your question.  If you're concerned with your horse developing choke from eating grain too quickly, a cribbing collar will not work as it shouldn't be so tight that it prevents eating.  If you are not able to put a salt block or large stone in the bucket to slow down eating, another alternative is to feed your horse more frequent meals of smaller quantity. They will get the same amount of grain in the day.  You could also mix some hay in with the grain which will force your horse to do more chewing and cut down on the risk of choking.

Thanks, Corlena
