Thank you so much for your answers!  I have heard of Buck Brannaman and Ray Hunt.  I am going to call Rick and see where he is and what we could arrange.  I am on  Eastern Long Island, but Pennsylvannia would not be impossible for me to go to or for me to possibly have him come here.  Maybe I could set him up to sponsor a clinic with one of the stables here.  

I know how those clinics work, but would that help offset costs?  

I would definitely work hard.  I had ordered the Dennis Reis DVDs and these are very good, but without someone being there and showing you, well I ended up being in the wrong place and that is how I got kicked.

Gosh I'm SO glad you are going to run with this.  DVD's are great if you are down to your last option.  At least people can see what some of these tools look like.  However, it is difficult  to learn from just a book or a video.  Having a good horseman or woman around for the hands on experience is so much better.  They can show you the details that are missed in DVD's and books.

If you are the clinic sponsor, your ride is free.  It depends on the individual clinician  what other financial arrangements can be made.

With Ricky, you will be able to negotiate depending on how many participants you have.  Buck offers a percentage back to his sponsors and Ray is a flat fee with anything over the flat fee going to the sponsor.

Most of these guys have promotional material, posters, that they will send you to help advertise the clinic.  I have sponsored clinics in the past, they are a lot of fun and you can form a great network of horse people.

You are on the right path now!  Have fun with this.  It is exciting to know that real change and improvement is coming.
