indoor riding arena

How essential is an indoor riding arena for a professional horse trainer?

Answer
An indoor is a luxury but not essential.  Although some climates would make it difficult, or impossible, to ride year round without one.  I, however, have never had the luxury of an indoor and whilst I'd love one, it certainly doesn't change anything regarding my horse activities.
