stallion behavior

We have a 5 year old QH stallion.  He has been very agitated and running around in the field for about 3 days.  From what we can observe, there is nothing around to threaten him, but something is bothering him.  What could the problem be?  He is in his field alone.

This is a very broad question. There are countless reasons why he could be acting in this manner ranging from he could smell a mare somewhere in the wind to "he's just a stallion". From the information you give, it is impossible to tell what is going on. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more. He has only been acting this way for "3 days". Give it a little time and see if he settles down. He probably will.
