problems with feet and undersaddle

Question
my mare is 6 and has always been difficult with her feet, i have managed to gether to start picking up the fronts quiet easily but gets restless very quickly..and ideas with this and getting her to pick up her hind feet without wanting tokick out?

the other problem is when i ride, which i dont do often because of this, she is reluctrant to leave our other horses, but will walk on for about a mile, then will refuse to budge, at that point if i apply a little more perssure to keep the movement she will start walking backwards, usually into the nearest fence, there have been a few times where this hasescilated and she has started to rear and behave very dangeriously, ive tried taking her out with other horses whish eases the problem slightly but she will still do it..

any ideas, would be much appreciated,
jade

My 2 ex racehorses have had this hoof picking problem many times before. First, check and make sure there are no signs of pain, abcesses or scratches (from being in muddy areas), especially if she lifts on one side and not the other.  When you pick her feet, presistance counts alot. Keep asking for her foot and hold the foot as steady as you can until she stops. This takes a few times, but usually she should catch on. If not, have her checked for injuries. Be careful not to get kicked!
iF your horse balks, try turning her in a tight circle, then kicking her on. If this does not, back her up a few steps and then ask again. Insist she moves on. After awhile, she'll find out there is no way out and go. Well Jade, hope I helped! If anything seems unclear or you have further questions, dont hesitate to post another followup I can answer. Thanks Jade!
Sincerely,
