gelding sheath cleaning

Hi Meg,
 Could you refresh my memory on the proper technique to gently and effectively clean a gelding's sheath & penis.  The geldings penis is
peeling skin.
 Can I use a gentle human body wash and how often should it be done? How do I make the penis
distend for cleaning.

Hey!

Thanks for your question and I apologize with for the delay. I'm headed back to school (sadly not for horses though) and things have been a little crazy.

Anyways, I admit I am not an expert on cleaning a horse's sheath. But first horse was a mare and I just recently got a gelding. So to help both of us learn a little more, here's a few websites I found.
