breeding roan to roan

is breeding roan to roan a good idea? i have a blue merle bc and i know that you shouldnt breed to another merle or your pups can have major defects. is this the sale with horses? can breeding two dilute colors bring defects in a foal?

Dear Tara,
        I am not very good with genetics, you may wish to contact someone who breeds roan horses. I think it would be okay but then i have never bred roan horses, I have heard that breeding two dilute colors such as Homozougus pinto's can result in death of the foal/misscarriage/premature birth. However i am not entirely sure. I'm sorry i couldn't be of more help.
