Moving to the US

Question
Dear Dorothy,

we will be moving from Germany to Newport,RI in June 2009, so I would like to be prepared about several things.
1. Horse food and supplements: Right now I use first class food by St. Hippolyt and Marstall. Do you have these manufacturers? Or similar manufcturers that offer premium food and muslis?
2. Where can I get information about how to find a good barn near Newport, RI? I got a big Hannoverian warmblood, and right now we have a paddock stall, a horsewalker, a big riding hall and lots of outsde arenas.
I would be more than happy to hear bac from you.

Greetings
Karin

Answer
Hello Karin,

And welcome to the USA in June 2009. For feed and supplements you might contact the nearest veterinarian to where you plan to live.  He/she will be able to tell you what you need about that.  And I recommend that you go online and search for riding stables in the area close to the town where you will be living to find just what you are looking for.  In the NE I imagine that most have indoor riding halls.  So if you know the town/area, search for stables and vets.  They will be able to answer your questions.

You can find the web site for the town, and contact them to ask about stables and vets.

I wish you luck in your move.  You must be quite excited by now. Please keep me posted on how things turn out.  You can contact me by email at:  dkmr2008@verizon.net.

Happy riding,
dorothy

I am on the west coast, up in Kennewick, WA.
