Question
Amanda,
We have 5 horses and the 1 I ride is a 3 yr old gelding, we also have a 2 yr old stud.  I "think" that the reason the 2 yr old picks on the 3 yr old is that he has chosen me to be the one that belongs to him.  The other 2 horses are 15,7 and 10.  He doesn't pick on any of them.  Do you think that I am crazy?  If I walk out into the pasture with them, he's the first one to come up to me.  I know that he picks on horses because we haven't gelded him yet, but, I just think this.  If you could give me your opinion on this I would appreciate this.
Thanks,
Kelly

Answer
hi kelly,
the colt picks on the other horse because his colt mind tells him to show dominance and be the leader. he sees you as attention and prais when you come into the pasture. there for he wants it all and doesnt want to allow the other horse to have any attention. it would be best to geld him to allow him to calm down a bit and not be as dominant.
