what is the difference between stallions and mustangs

Stallions are un-castrated male horses of any breed. Mustang refers, generally, to the feral horses of the American West that are decendants of the horses brought over by the early explorers of America.  They are a mix of breeds depending upon what horses were introduced to the feral herds.  Some have draft blood, others may look like Quarterhorses, Appaloosas, Thoroughbreds or will strongly resemble the Spanish Mustangs which were the foundation stock.
