Question
Hello Bradford
We have a TB mare that is picking her offhind leg up higher than normal when walking and while motionless intermittently holds up the leg for a second or two.  There is no swelling, slight heat and sensitivity at the fetlock.
Just wondering if we should do anything other than give her bute and rest?
thanks for your time

Answer
get a vet involved now. This has been too long and the signs seem to be worse. the lifting of the leg could be pain. The horse may also have a neurological or muscle problem. You need a good equine vet to evaluate her thoroughly. good luck and stay in touch.
