Question
hi i have only been feeding him sugarbeet, with garlic in to keep flys away, he is out on grazing 24/7 so i haven't been feeding him any hay, he was on this last winter and was fine, he even came down for some feed today when i fed the others but i didnt give him any.

Answer
Sure sounds like you're doing everything right Kirsty!  I would keep watching him because it is very possible that he has somehow ingested something that has lodged in his mouth or throat and makes it difficult for his feed to pass through.  If the choke episodes continue, definitely have your vet check him out and keep me posted.
