AnswerHi Luciee - For some reason, the e-mail notifying me of your question, landed in my spam folder so I apologize for not getting back to you before now. Your question is a good one but would be impossible to answer in this format as entire books are written about retraining race horses so you will probably want to purchase a good one to help you with your new horse. It will probably have you begin with a ton of ground work - lots of lunging and driving - before climbing on board. Depending on your riding experience, it might even be advisable to take her to a professional trainer for 30 - 60 days followed by a series of lessons for the two of you to ensure you get off on the right foot. It's a big job and a major commitment Luciee but congratulations on your new horse ... she is very lucky to have found someone like you who is willing to give her a second chance :)
Thank you and again, so sorry for taking so long to get to your question!!
