Question
I am 62 years old and have been out of the horse racing buisness for about 27 years. I have aquired a thoroughbred that I am training. What I need to know is where can I go to get my filly  okayed out of the gate to race her. So any help with this matter would be appreciated. Jeff Walsh

Answer
Hello Jeff,

You don't say what city you are close to.  If you are close to a TB racing track, you can contact the admin office to ask their rules for getting your filly OKed out of the gate.  If you are not close, I suggest that you contact the Jockey Club and ask where the closest track is.

Ultimately, you will have to use a trainer at a track to get anything official.  I am assuming that your filly is papered and is or will be tatooed.

Good luck and happy racing,

Dorothy
