Question
"Last year April my parents bought a farm, with the farm came 5 horses, they were not very familier with humans but in time we have been able to ride them. In August we galded the 3year old stalion (Butch), which was ridden 3times but threw all 3people off. Since then me and him have really bonded, he comes when ever i call him and he is lovely to ride. In October my father bought a horse for himself, also a galding, 6years of age(Plum). But my Butch keeps on attacking Plum!! He gallops off and runs after Plum, untill we can get one of them in a camp and the other out. They run through fenses and all they are doing is hurting themselves. But i dont know how to make them like each other, Plum does nothing to Butch, but Butch has to go and attack Plum!!? Why? Do you know of any way that i can get Butch to stop fighting? Or do we have to seperate them all the time?
PLEASE if you have any info at all be it big or small, please help me!!!
Thanks a ton

Answer
HI TARYN
MAKE CERTAIN BOTH ARE TRULY GELDING NOT HALF ASSED AS MANY VETS DO TO MAKE THEM STILL A STALLION TEASE TO USE ON MARES.  MAKE CERTAIN THEY ARE TRUE GELDINGS AT HEART AND VET SURGEY WISE.
GELDINGS ALWAYS GET ALONG TOGETHER, DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS PROBLEM OF CHASING ONE AFTER THE OTHER FOR THEY HAVE NOTHING TO THINK ABOUT BUT EATING.  THEY ARE TRULY GELDING THE ENTIRE WAY, THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY HATERED IN THEM FOR OTHER HORSES. I WOULD HAVE A VET CHECK THEM BOTH TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE TRULY CUT THE WHOLE WAY AS I HAVE TOLD YOU TO ASK FOR IN EXAMINE.
PUT THEM EACH ON HALTER AND LEAD AND TAKE NOSE TO NOSE AND INTRODUCE THEM AS FRIENDS. IF ONE ACTS UP SCOLD BY CHECKING HARD ON THE LEAD WITH A QUICK PULL DOWN WITH A CHAIN OVER THE NOSE AND SAY WHOA, NO, EASY BOY.
THE WORD EASY IS SOOTHING TO HORSES UPSET OR BEING BROKE TO RIDE AND HELPS ALOT IF SAID NICELY.
KEEP ON LEAD AND RIDE TOGETHER WITH STRICT CONFINEMENT OF EACH ONE ON A TRAIL TO BEHAVE.  BE THE BOSS WHEN U MOUNT A HORSE ALWAYS NO MATTER.  BE IN CONTROL OF THE HORSE YOUR ON AS WELL AS THE OTHERS.
LET THE HORSE KNOW YOUR BOSS AND SOON THEY LEARN TO BEHAVE AND BE GENTELMEN, BUT THEY MUST KNOW U MEAN BUSINESS. PLEASE HAVE THEM VETTED FOR THIS IS UNUSUAL TO ME IN ALL THE 35 OR MORE YEARS WITH MANY MANY HORSES.

KIND REGARDS
